We Lacked Focus and Team Spirit, Injuries Are Haunting Us

After losing to Roma 1-0 in a crucial match in the 34th round of the Italian league, Inter Milan’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, addressed the key details of the match and how the loss affected his team.

Inzaghi said: “What are we missing? Unfortunately, this is our third defeat in a week, which is painful. The team tried and gave everything despite a lack of focus at certain moments, but we felt the support of the fans in the end, and that gave us a boost. The players always give their all, and they will always have my appreciation and gratitude. I don’t want to delve into details like the match schedule or throw-ins or unawarded penalties; now we need to rest as we will travel to Barcelona in two days.”

Regarding the team’s performance in the match, Inzaghi added: “The pressure was more individual than collective, which caused us some problems against Roma. They performed well, and in the second half, we deserved to achieve something better, but today the focus was somewhat lacking, especially since there are important matches in the league and the Champions League ahead.”

Inzaghi pointed out the importance of the team regaining its focus: “It is essential that we regain our physical and mental energy in the coming days, and also analyze this match well to see how we can improve our performance. The second half showed a lot of spirit and determination from the players, but now is not the time to talk about other matters.”

Inzaghi concluded his statements by talking about injuries, saying: “Regaining Thuram will be important for us, while Pavard suffered an injury to his left ankle, and he is currently in a medical state. We will wait for the coming days to assess the severity of the injury; this is painful because he is a key player for us.”
