Enrique: The match against Nice is important, and we will show the best version of Paris against Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain’s head coach, Luis Enrique, expressed his great confidence in his team’s ability to deliver a strong performance against Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, emphasizing that the focus at this stage is entirely on European success.

Enrique said: “The match against Nice represents an important step for us before the Champions League. It is true that the sporting motivation is not high, but we need this type of match for ideal preparation.”

He added: “We are experiencing an unusual scenario; this is the first time we are champions of the league with such a large gap before the end. Nevertheless, there are records that motivate us, and that is what we are focusing on now.”

Regarding his assessment of the team’s performance recently, Enrique said with a smile: “Am I satisfied? No, I am very happy. The performance is good, and there is a clear improvement in our collective character.”

He continued: “There is no perfect team, and we are no exception. It is natural to have some flaws, but we are constantly working to improve them. Those who only focus on the negatives see things from a narrow perspective.”

Enrique spoke about his team’s opponent in the Champions League semi-finals, saying: “We haven’t started analyzing Arsenal yet, but I know them well for a long time. I follow them constantly; they are a strong team with outstanding elements, but we trust ourselves.”

He added: “The version we will present against Arsenal will be our best this season. We are living a very important moment, and we have great ambitions to achieve something extraordinary.”

Regarding the unbeaten record away from home in 39 matches, Enrique said: “This record shows our strong character and our resilience in the toughest circumstances. We are proud of what we have achieved and eager to finish the season in the best possible way.”
