Al-Shabab Demands Accountability for Refereeing After Loss to Al-Ittihad

Al-Shabab Club has expressed its strong anger towards the refereeing decisions witnessed during its match against Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, asserting that the mistakes directly affected the result and eliminated them from the tournament.

The club clarified that it has performed strongly throughout the season and deserved fair refereeing in the match it lost with a score of 3-2, yet the refereeing decisions were contrary to that.

The Al-Shabab management confirmed that it had previously contacted the Referees Committee to request a referee from the elite referees for the match, but the response was that they were unavailable, which the management considered an acknowledgment of the shortcomings in refereeing.

After the name of the appointed referee was leaked, Al-Shabab sent reports warning of his previous mistakes, but the committee ignored the matter, raising questions about the referee selection process.

Al-Shabab called on the Saudi Football Federation to provide clear answers regarding what happened, emphasizing the importance of holding those responsible accountable to ensure equal opportunities among clubs.
