Nemanja Matic, the current player for Olympique Lyon and former Manchester United player, made sharp remarks against Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, following the latter’s comments that downplayed the level of the French club.
In the press conference before the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals tomorrow, Thursday, Matic responded to Onana’s statements by saying: “Onana said they are much better than us? When you are one of the worst goalkeepers in the history of Manchester United, you should be careful about what you say.”
The Serbian player added: “If it were Van der Sar, Peter Schmeichel, or David De Gea who said that, it would be acceptable, but Onana? He is among the worst.”
This comes at a time when Onana has been facing a lot of criticism since his transfer to Manchester United two seasons ago, due to the poor performances he has delivered in many matches, which contributed to the English team’s defeats.
