Decisive Response from Onana to Matic Ahead of Europa League Match

Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana, a player for Manchester United, has responded to the controversial statements made by Nemanja Matic, a player for Olympique Lyon, ahead of the highly anticipated clash between the two teams tomorrow, Thursday, in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Matic had criticized Onana, deeming him one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United’s history, in statements that sparked widespread controversy before the match.

Onana posted an indirect response to the Serbian player’s remarks on his official account on the platform “X”, stating: “I will never disrespect any other club; we know that tomorrow’s match will be tough against a strong opponent.”

He added: “We are focused on delivering a performance that pleases our fans.”

The United goalkeeper concluded his remarks with a strong message, saying: “At least I have won titles with the greatest club in the world; some cannot say the same.”

All eyes are on the venue for tomorrow’s match, amidst charged atmospheres between the two teams, with the return leg scheduled to take place next week in England.
