Barcelona Requests Rescheduling of Valladolid Match

The Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’ revealed that FC Barcelona has officially requested the Spanish Football League to reschedule their match against Valladolid, set for Saturday, May 3, as part of the 34th round of La Liga, at the José Zorrilla Stadium.

According to the newspaper, Barcelona requested to move the match time from 9 PM to one of the following times: 2 PM, 4:15 PM, or 6:30 PM, to avoid the team returning late at night to Barcelona, especially since the team has a crucial match against Inter Milan in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, May 6.

The Catalan club hopes to be granted enough time to prepare for the European clash, especially since the match against Inter will take place at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.

The newspaper also clarified that this request follows comments from coach Hans Flick, who previously criticized the match schedule in La Liga, emphasizing that other European leagues better consider the interests of clubs participating in continental competitions.

It is worth noting that La Liga had already adjusted the match date, which was initially scheduled for Sunday, May 4, before being moved to Saturday, but Barcelona is still seeking to change its timing as well.
