Surprising Move from Al-Nassr Before the Union Summit

The management of Al-Nassr Club has taken a notable step ahead of the anticipated match against Al-Ittihad, as part of the matches in the thirtieth round of the Roshan Professional League.

Al-Nassr is preparing to host Al-Ittihad at the Al-Awwal Park stadium on Wednesday, May 7, in a match that could be decisive in the race for the Saudi league title this season.

Al-Ittihad leads the standings with 68 points after 29 rounds, while Al-Nassr occupies the third position with 60 points, amid a fierce three-way battle for the league title.

According to reports from Al-Riyadiyah newspaper, Al-Nassr officials have submitted an official request to bring in a foreign refereeing crew to manage the upcoming match against Al-Ittihad.

Previous reports indicated that Al-Ittihad’s management also initiated a request for foreign referees, reflecting the importance and sensitivity of the clash between the two teams.

The Saudi Football Federation requires the foreign referees’ request to be submitted 14 days before the match date, with the cost for a four-member crew being 175,000 Riyals and for a five-member crew being 219,000 Riyals.

The match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr holds paramount importance, not only for determining the title but also for ensuring qualification for the prestigious AFC Champions League next season.

Al-Ittihad recently achieved an exciting victory over Al-Ettifaq with a score of three goals to two, while Al-Nassr overcame Damak with the same result in the previous round.
