The coach said: “The reception of the first goal was not ideal, but I trust my players. They always find a way to win. I don’t think we would have lost today if we were in this stadium.”
He added: “Our main focus was to win this match. Everyone was saying we had already won it, but we still felt the pressure to secure it.”
He continued: “We have been at the top of the league for almost the entire season, and we had a team capable of winning. We know how difficult the Premier League is, but we have always been confident in our ability to win it.”
He increased: “The work that Klopp has done, from the team culture, work rate, and quality, has been amazing. We started the season very well, and perhaps it helped that Manchester City went through a difficult period that they haven’t experienced in five years.”
He followed: “When the season started, we would have been happy to be among the top four. But I don’t think that is fair to the players, they are much better than that, and they have proven it this season.”
He concluded as the first Dutchman to win the Premier League: “Winning something is always special, and it becomes even more wonderful if you are the first to achieve it.”
