This is not bad, and Kovacic is exceptional

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in press statements after qualifying for the FA Cup final with a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

The coach said: “It was a good start. Our style of play did not allow them many attacking transitions as they were very dangerous. They also did not reach the final third of the pitch well with crosses from Chris Wood and so on.”

He added: “During the match, they had chances, and this is a team that has a postponed match, and they are better than us in the Premier League. They created a few more chances than we did in the match we played there a month or two ago in the Premier League; they are a great team. Overall, I liked most of the things we presented.”

He emphasized: “Reaching the FA Cup semi-finals 7 times in a row and three consecutive finals… is not bad!”

He continued: “A few months ago, the ball was going into the net. It goes to this side or that. Everything is in the players’ heads, in their minds. We are in the final, so if I said three years ago that you would reach the FA Cup final three times in a row, let’s go. It’s amazing; now we have four finals in the Premier League, and we need to recover and face Wolverhampton again.”

About Rico Lewis: “I am smart, but not smart enough to see him score; his positioning in the penalty area is amazing.”

About Mateo Kovacic: “Kovacic is exceptional. The last three or four matches have been amazing. At his age, he cannot play every three days, but we are lucky to have had time to recover. We need him for his quality and calmness.”
