Record Numbers for Al-Hilal After Victory Over Guangzhou

Al-Hilal triumphed with a crushing victory over South Korea’s Guangzhou, winning 7-0 in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League elite tournament yesterday, Friday.

With this significant win over Guangzhou, Al-Hilal secured a spot in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League to face the winner of the match between Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli and Thailand’s Buriram in the quarter-finals.

Al-Hilal achieved record numbers following their victory over Guangzhou, which are as follows:

First: Al-Hilal achieved the largest winning score in the AFC Champions League this season.

Second: Al-Hilal is the only team that has won by a margin of 7 goals in the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League, having won by the same score against Qatar’s Al-Duhail in the 2023 edition.

Third: Al-Hilal inflicted the heaviest defeat on a South Korean team in the AFC Champions League since the competition began in the 2002-03 season.

Fourth: Al-Hilal repeated the 7-goal victory under the leadership of their Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, a result they also achieved against Abha in the 18th round of the Saudi league in December 2023.

Fifth: Al-Hilal scored at least 3 goals in the first half for the fourth time in a knockout stage match of the AFC Champions League.
