Before the Clash of Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli: Know the History of Saudi Teams’ Encounters in Asia

Saudi football fans are preparing for an exciting encounter as Al-Ahli clashes with its rival Al-Hilal next Tuesday in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League, a match that cannot be divided.

This anticipated match represents a purely local struggle, as the two giants seek to secure a ticket to the grand Asian final hosted in Jeddah this year.

This is the tenth encounter between Saudi clubs in the Asian tournament, following a series of strong matches that began in 2009 between Al-Ittihad and Al-Shabab.

The last Saudi-Asian match featured Al-Nasr against Al-Faihah in the previous edition’s Round of 16, adding exceptional excitement before the upcoming match between Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal.

Over the years, Saudi club encounters have marked significant milestones, including Al-Ittihad against Al-Shabab, Al-Hilal, and Al-Ahli, then Al-Hilal against Al-Ahli, Al-Nasr against Al-Tae’oon, Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, and finally Al-Faihah.
