The Anger of Real Madrid Players Costs Them a Red Card

The last minutes of extra time in the King’s Cup final witnessed a controversial incident when German defender Antonio Rudiger, a Real Madrid player, completely lost his temper after referee De Burgos called a foul against his team.

Rudiger, who was sitting on the bench after being substituted, couldn’t control himself and threw a bottle at the referee from more than 20 meters away. Although the bottle did not hit the referee, the incident resulted in a red card being shown to the player.

After the expulsion, Rudiger entered a state of extreme anger, prompting the Real Madrid coaching staff to intervene and restrain him to prevent him from approaching the referee. This was not the only incident, as his teammates Vinicius Junior and Lucas Vazquez also received red cards due to excessive protests.

The incident sparked a lot of controversy and affected the atmosphere of the match, which was at its critical moments, revealing an unusual tension from the Real Madrid players in an important final.

Barcelona secured the title after winning 3-2 following extra time.

It is worth noting that the Real Madrid trio will not be available against Celta Vigo in La Liga.
