Crystal Palace Striker on Manchester United’s Radar

Manchester United continues its efforts to bolster its attacking line during the upcoming summer transfer window, having placed Frenchman Jean-Philippe Mateta, Crystal Palace’s striker, among its priorities.

According to what was reported by ‘CaughtOffside’, Manchester United has made initial contacts with Mateta, who recently shone by scoring a remarkable goal against Arsenal during the 2-2 draw in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old Mateta has had a standout season with Crystal Palace, contributing to 20 goals so far, with 17 goals and 3 assists across all competitions, making him a target for several major clubs.

Manchester United lists Mateta alongside Victor Osimhen and Matheus Cunha as part of its interest, as coach Ruben Amorim seeks to add a top-class striker to enhance the team’s attacking capabilities alongside Rasmus Hojlund.

On another note, Bayern Munich and Juventus have also expressed interest in signing the French striker, especially with the possibility of Harry Kane leaving Bayern and Dusan Vlahovic departing Juventus.

In light of the growing interest, Crystal Palace has already started to move towards signing Alassane Plea, Borussia Monchengladbach’s striker, as an alternative option in case Mateta leaves.
