We Want to Make Our Fans Happy in the Clasico, and This is Important

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois appeared in press statements after the victory over Getafe 1-0 in the 33rd round of La Liga at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

The Belgian goalkeeper said: “We were slow in the first half and faced difficulty in passing the ball, but we tried to regain our rhythm and took the lead 1-0, then they fell back. After the break, we wanted to add a second goal. They then pressed hard, and we faced more difficulty in passing the ball well and finding spaces for the players. Winning the three points from Getafe, which is a tough stadium, gives us confidence for what is to come.”

He added: “It is important to keep our goal clean. It is always good to have defensive cohesion, and we achieve that with everyone’s focus on defense. We have done that in the last few matches, and we need to repeat it on Saturday in the cup final.”

He continued: “In the first half, I only received one shot, and the rest were aerial balls. In the second half, the opponent tried to deliver more crosses through Álvaro. At that point, we faced greater difficulty. Then, in the most dangerous attack, Mila touched the ball, then I touched it, and when Juanmi came, I pounced on him, and he did not score, and I managed to catch the rebound. I was focused, and with one player down, we had to maintain the score.”

Regarding the cup final: “We need to keep our focus, but we are very excited for the King’s Cup final. We lost in the Champions League and are in second place in La Liga, but we want to give Real Madrid fans something to celebrate against Barcelona in the King’s Cup final.”
