We will face a tough opponent, and we need to improve in some areas

Hans Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, spoke at the press conference regarding the team’s match against Real Mallorca, which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, in the 33rd round of La Liga.

Flick commented on De Jong’s role in the false defense: “We analyzed this style against Celta Vigo and explained to the players how to implement it. We must take into account the possibility of losing the ball, and we need to be prepared for that. At certain moments, like the 4 against 5 situation, I wasn’t satisfied with the performance, and I told them that we need to improve in this aspect.”

Regarding Raphinha’s role with Barcelona, he said: “It’s important for the entire team to be professional, and that’s what I see with the players. Raphinha is a great leader, and we need that spirit in the team; he is always focused on how to improve himself.”

On Ferran Torres, he added: “Ferran will be very important; he is in a great moment and has scored crucial goals. The number 9 position suits him best; he is fast and has good ball control. We need him, and we will manage his participation wisely.”

Regarding the impact of the cup on the league match, he confirmed: “I don’t think the match will be affected by the cup competition; it will be the end of this competition, and after that come the important matches in the league and the Champions League.”

On player fatigue, he said: “We must be careful in managing fatigue; against Mallorca, we need fresh legs. The players want to prove that they don’t need rest, but it is essential to manage the effort; everyone must accept that.”

On the mental preparation for the match, he pointed out: “The most important thing is to focus on ourselves after the Dortmund and Celta matches. We need to do things better; we have the quality to defeat any team, but only if we play correctly. There is positive energy after coming back against Celta, and that is the mood we need to maintain.”

Regarding potential points lost in La Liga, he said: “We don’t know what will happen; the league is very strong. The goal is not to drop any points, but that is not easy even when playing well. We must be cautious, especially after the Celta match, and I hope that game serves as a wake-up call.”

On players who are upset due to lack of participation, he said: “I understand the players’ feelings; they want to contribute, but we have to accept the decisions. When they play, we want to see them respond correctly on the field.”

On Ter Stegen’s condition, he clarified: “Ter Stegen is ready and prepared, and we will talk to him to determine the best time for his return.”

Regarding Lewandowski’s absence, he continued: “We don’t know yet how long he will be out. When he is ready to return, we will welcome him, but there is no need to rush.”

He concluded his statements by talking about Real Mallorca, saying: “Mallorca has had a great season and can qualify for Europe. It will be a tough match against a team that defends well and knows how to execute transitions quickly; we need to be prepared.”
