Media figure Ahmed Shobir has clarified the controversy regarding reports of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr nearing a move to Al Ahly to participate in the Club World Cup.
Shobir stated on his radio program on “On Sport FM”: “Listen to me for the full story about Cristiano Ronaldo.. I am tired of repeating the same thing, there is no such thing as Ronaldo playing with Al Ahly.”
He added that what is being circulated is merely unfounded rumors, emphasizing that those who promote these rumors aim only to stir controversy.
Shobir confirmed that Al Hilal is the closest to acquiring Ronaldo on loan.
He added: “Cristiano Ronaldo is a global star with a well-known and honorable history, but there are no negotiations or official or unofficial talks linking him to Al Ahly, neither now nor during the Club World Cup.”
