The Reality of Barcelona’s Participation in the Club World Cup

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced on March 21 that it had excluded Club León from the tournament because it is owned by the same owner as Pachuca, which will also participate in the event.
Recent media reports have suggested that FIFA might invite FC Barcelona to replace León in the Club World Cup.
The Catalan newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” stated that FIFA has no intention of calling Barcelona to the Club World Cup, and that a decision has not yet been made regarding which club will participate instead of León.
León will be able to return to the Club World Cup if it becomes owned by another entity, which is unlikely due to the limited time available.
The Club World Cup will feature 32 clubs and will take place from June 15 to July 13.
