Enrique: Qualification for the Champions League Semi-Finals Indicates the Strength of Paris

Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his great pride in what his team has achieved this season, confirming that the goal now is to finish the French league without any losses, ahead of the match against Le Havre in the 30th round of the competition.

Enrique said about the European qualification: “I am proud to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League again; this reflects the stability and cohesion of the team, and it is a positive indicator of what we are building in Paris.”

Regarding the team’s ambitions in the French league, he added: “We aim to finish the league unbeaten; it would be a rare historical achievement, despite the difficulty of the task against teams fighting for survival.”

On the team’s performance against Aston Villa in the Champions League, he clarified: “Despite the loss, we delivered a performance that exceeded my expectations; we played courageously, made mistakes, but the indicators were positive.”

Regarding his confidence in the team, he said: “I do not know if we will be stronger next season, but we have proven this season that we are better than we were before.”

On mental preparation, he stated: “I didn’t focus much on mental preparation, but what I liked is that we continued to attack until the last moment, and this reflects the character of the team.”

On facing Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals, he said: “Arsenal is one of the best teams in Europe and is developing significantly under Arteta; facing them will not be easy despite our previous knowledge of them.”

Regarding the substitutions against Aston Villa, he confirmed: “In crucial matches, substitutions must be calculated; I was satisfied with the performance, and if the match had gone to extra time, I would have made more changes.”

On the criticisms he faces, he said: “I faced criticism in the past for rotation, and now for making only one substitution; I trust all the players, and I need a strong and ready squad.”

He continued: “We have won the league title, but we aspire to make history; the dream has not yet been realized; we want to win all the trophies, especially the Champions League.”

He concluded his statements by talking about Lyon’s loss to Manchester United, saying: “Lyon played a great match despite playing with 10 players; football does not recognize fairness, and everything can change in minutes.”
