The Spanish Fernando Caro, sporting director of Bayer Leverkusen, spoke about the future of his compatriot, head coach Xabi Alonso.
This comes amid increasing reports about Alonso getting closer to being the head coach of Real Madrid, which intends to dismiss Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Caro stated on this matter: “There is no buyout clause in his contract, but we have a formal agreement; if a club he has previously played for requests him… we will sit down and discuss the matter, and we will not place any obstacles in our way.”
He continued: “We know there is interest from Real Madrid, and if an agreement is reached, we will not be an obstacle to completing the matter.”
It is worth noting that Alonso has previously played for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Sociedad, and Eibar.
